HKU Movewell Online Training Webapp

The Centre of Development and Resources for Students (CEDARS) and Centre for Sports and Exercise (CSE) at HKU have aimed to continue to promote physical activity during the COVID-19 pandemic through various platforms such as online means and social media channels. As the COVID-19 pandemic continued to develop it has become increasingly evident that being physically active is not only necessary but vital in helping the body to defend against all sorts of diseases that are bolstered by a more robust and well-functioning immune system.

Not only can physical fitness help to reduce the incidence of co-morbidities (diabetes, obesity, hypertension, heart disease, stroke, and various cancers) which increase the susceptibility to and contribute to poorer health outcomes of the COVID-19 disease, but physical activity also helps in managing stress and improving mental well-being, which itself is challenged during extended periods of staying at home.
