We are honored to have partnered with the Department of Science and Environmental Studies (SES) at The Education University of Hong Kong to revitalize their official digital platform. Our mission was to create a modern, engaging, and highly functional website that reflects the department’s commitment to scientific innovation and environmental sustainability while ensuring a seamless experience for students, faculty, and researchers.

1. Modular Component-Based CMS
To provide the SES team with maximum flexibility, we developed a custom Content Management System (CMS) based on a modular design philosophy. Rather than rigid templates, we designed and implemented a comprehensive library of versatile page components, including:

• Dynamic Layouts: Options for "Image-Text" pairings (e.g., left-aligned images with right-aligned text).
• Data Visualization: Custom-styled tables for academic and research data.
• Interactive Media: High-impact Banners and Image/Video Carousels to highlight departmental programmes.
• Structured Grids: Organized grid layouts for faculty profiles and program listings.
  This approach empowers administrators to freely combine these components to build unique, tailored pages that meet specific communication needs without requiring technical expertise.

2. Optimized User Experience & Responsive Design
Recognizing the diverse browsing habits of the academic community, we prioritized a "Mobile-First" responsive layout. The website ensures flawless performance and readability across desktops, tablets, and mobile phones. We also streamlined the information architecture to enhance navigation, making it easier for prospective students to explore the curriculum and for researchers to access the Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) details.

3. Multilingual & Global Accessibility
To support the department’s international reach, the platform provides full multilingual support, including English, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese. We implemented automated translation workflows to ensure content consistency across all language versions, catering to both local and mainland Chinese stakeholders.

4. Secure Integration & Advanced Functionality

• Single Sign-On (SSO): Integrated with EdUHK’s internal network via Microsoft Entra ID (SAML authentication) for secure administrative access.
• News & Event Management: A dedicated system for archiving and categorizing departmental updates by year, featuring automated resizing for media uploads.

5. Comprehensive Maintenance & Security
Beyond the launch, we provide a full year of maintenance, including regular CMS patches, vulnerability scanning, and performance tuning. This ensures the SES website remains a secure, high-performing resource for the university community.
